Take Note Troupe presents A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Pictured here: Megan Hodgson (Rocklin), Andie Reynolds (Lincoln), Shane Simmons (Citrus Heights).

4 Cool Things To Do This Month:

1. Park it on a Midsummer’s Night
Spend an evening in Royer Park and introduce your kiddo to an upbeat, understandable and entertaining rendition of The Bard’s classic, A Midsummer
Nights Dream, presented by the Take Note Troupe beginning June 5 (see the In the Spotlight section for details).

2. Pet a Croc
The Effie Yeaw Nature Center gets wild when Peter Gros, wildlife expert and original co-host of Wild Kingdom, and his animal friends make an appearance on June 7, sharing thrilling and edu-taining tales about travel, animals and conservation.

3. Get the Cotton Candy. And the Fried Twinkie.
That’s right—it’s fair season, and time to enjoy all of the classic fair fare! The San Joaquin County Fair stops in Stockton on June 16, and Placer County Fair rolls into Roseville on June 24. Enjoy exhibits, concerts and the midway—who’s ready to ride the Zipper?!

4. Ready, Set, Glow!
Angelia de Boer’s journey started with a single step. A little over a year ago, the Sacramento mom of two joined her first Fleet Feet training program, walking most of her first half-mile workout. Today she can run nine miles (or more!) without stopping, and she’s training for a half-marathon. “It’s kind of addictive,” says Angelia, who will be at the Nike Women’s Fitness Festival—Sacramento’s largest all-women’s run/walk event on June 6. Join her and other women of all fitness levels and abilities on the West Steps of the State Capitol in Sacramento.
